Three Local Online Stores

Why people shop online?

The World Wide Web is not only a source for information but it is also a virtual shopping mall for consumers everywhere. It is no wonder why people shop online these days, rather than going to a shopping mall. Imagine shopping from the comfort of your own home at anytime of the day, without having to get dressed and endure severe traffic congestion just to get to a shopping mall. The advantages of buying online far surpasses the advantages of going to your local mall. With the increase of Internet shopping malls, consumers can now shop for products from everywhere around the world. Basically, there are no geographical boundaries on the Internet, therefore buyers and sellers from all over the world can come together and interact. Moreover, there is a wide variety of goods available online. Your product options are limitless and you have the luxury of purchasing products which are not available at your local malls. Some shoppers are shy to purchase products such as lingerie and hair growth lotion at actual shops. These shoppers will be able to purchase their desired products online while remaining anonymous and they do not have to feel embarrassed as no face-to-face contact will occur.Consumers are able to find lower prices when shopping online as they have access to stores operated by retailers in other countries. A product manufactured in a particular country is usually sold at a cheaper price in that country, compared to elsewhere. Through the Internet, consumers can purchase the said product thus saving them some money. Another reason why people shop online is due to the convenience it brings. A virtual shopping mall is open for business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A shopper can buy products online anytime, anywhere based on their own preference. Mothers with young kids will find this most useful as it is very troublesome to bring young kids to the shopping mall. Instead of looking for a child care solution each time they need to frequent the mall, mothers can now shop online while their kids are asleep. In addition, online shopping allows you to read up on other consumers' product reviews. These comments will be able to help you determine whether the product is good or not. This is a big benefit for you as you will be able to get unbiased reviews from real users of the product, rather than the company selling it. Furthermore, you can also share your own experiences with a particular product with other consumers online. Lastly, the Internet presents consumers with niche products which are difficult to find. For instance, if you are looking for niche health products such as all-natural health supplements, shopping online will most probably be better for you.

Here are some of local online Stores :)

Online reviews about eBAY :

The top spot for online auction service goes to eBay, the largest and most complete online auction venue in the world. But more than being the most popular and having even become a household name, eBay’s long time experience, exposure and membership gives them the clout they deserve.

 Sulit.com.ph

Sulit.com.ph is a classified ads website that caters primarily to Philippine market. It is an online marketplace where people buy and sell a wide variety of goods, products, and services under different categories such as real estate, automotives, careers, business products and services, and many more among Filipino individuals and business groups all over the world.
Launched on September 11, 2006, the free online classified ads website was named Sulit.com.ph for 2 reasons: (1) “Sulit” is a Filipino word that means “worth it” in English, describing the affordability of items being sold by the site’s members; and (2) Sulit is an acronym for “Super Low Internet Trading.”
In addition to the buy and sell platform, Sulit.com.ph also provides an online community among Filipino web users. Through the Sulit.com.ph forum, members interact with one another about various topics including business, lifestyle, current events, and health among many others. Thus, Sulit.com.ph can also be translated to “Sulit Community in the Philippines.”

 Online reviews about Sulit.com.ph:

Sulit.com.ph is one of the most popular classified ads posting forum site in the Philippines. It has more than half a million members with 800 to 900 new members signing up daily. As of to date, the site has accommodated up to 2 million ads posted on the site. Around 2000 to 3000 ads get posted on a daily basis.
Its popularity made the site attractive also to those committing fraud, scam, and identity theft. As a result, due to feelings of uncertainty by both buyers and sellers, a lot of transactions happen offline.

 Buyonline.com

Buyonline.ph is an online shopping mall based in the Philippines catering to both local and international shoppers; offering convenience, variety, and security for all its shoppers.

Buyonline.ph carries a wide range of products - apparel, accessories, books, electronics, computer, gadgets, movies, music, toys, baby needs, cosmetics, pets, home improvement, furniture and fixtures, and even industrial items - from a reliable list of suppliers, both local and multinational companies.

Business Hours

The Buyonline.ph website is fully operational 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. However, orders checked out after office hours (Office Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays will be processed by our staff on the next business day. Our office is also closed on holidays.

Online reviews about Buyonline.com:

True to its name, this is a site where you could find mostly anything you could ever want to buy. It doesn't matter what you are after, here you are bound to find it. Books, DVDs, videos, electronics, digital cameras, laptops, computer hardware and software, apparel, accessories, shoes... all that can be compared and bought through this site, and at excellent prices, too. Items are grouped in all the logical categories - "Computers & Software", "Home & Garden", "Clothing & Accessories"... and launching a search to find what you need to buy is done in seconds. Plus, the site lists the most popular brands on its homepage for those who are partial to products coming from certain companies only. Apple, Logitech, Samsung, Kodak, Hewlett Packard, Sony... these are just some of the many companies users of Buy-Online.com have the chance to go for on the site.

Buy-Online.com is really excellent as it is, but it would be even better if you could sign up for alerts when items you want move within a certain price range. That would make the site even more practical than it already is, but (let me say it again) it is close enough to perfect as it stands right now.

History
In 1928, Congress passed Act No. 3495 granting the Robert Dollar Company, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, a franchise to operate wireless long distance message services in the Philippines. The Robert Dollar Company subsequently incorporated in the Philippines as Globe Wireless Limited and in 1934, Congress passed Act No. 4150 transferring the franchise and privileges of the Robert Dollar Company to Globe Wireless Limited.

Globe has rolled out Globe broadband powered by WiMAX (Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access). Globe's network is considered the first and biggest 2.5 GHz WiMAX (802.16e) broadband network in South East Asia. It is first in the Philippines to commercially launch a consumer WiMAX offering. Currently, Globe has around four thousand subscribers on its WiMAX network, after only a few weeks. The service is initially available in selected areas in South Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao. Globe continues to roll-out WiMAX sites, as a complement to its existing DSL and 3G Internet facilities, to ensure the internet gets to every Filipino who needs it. Globe is providing WiMAX to selected local community government offices in Cavite, Batangas and Cagayan de Oro City. Globe is also providing Internet access via WiMAX to selected schools and city hospitals in Mindanao as part of its thrust of community service to the marginalized areas.

From Online Reviews:

According to Speed, Coverage and Price

·         The Globe Wimax is a Wi-fi connection and it’s valued at a monthly rate of P995. We subscribed to the 1mbps plan and I am pleased to say that it’s a real 1mbps plan even though we’ve got several computers open 24/7 and the speed doesn’t get affected, unless you’d open at about 15 computers – then that’s another issue. We have 5 computers open and we still get a good speed and there are no internet connection problems that couldn’t be fixed in a couple of minutes. We usually experience some trouble about once a month, and that’s really rare compared to our recent PLDT subscription in which we had absolutely zero Internets in our location!

Sky Broadband

Sky Broadband is an internet service provider for Sky customers. As of March 2008 Sky claims to have reached1.428 million customers, and unbundled 1,179 exchanges, covering 70% of the United Kingdom. In October 2007, Sky reached the 1 million mark in terms of customer numbers, and claims to be adding one new customer every 40 seconds. From a marketing perspective, Sky Broadband is an example of converged service. As of 30 September 2009, it had 2.3 million customers.

Sky Broadband According to Speed, Coverage and Price
As with all ADSL connections, the further away from the telephone exchange the customer site is, the slower the speed will be. Sky use DLM (Dynamic Line Management) over the first 10 days of a new connection to stabilize the DSL line at an acceptable downstream and upstream speed in order for the connection to remain stable.
Lines are initially connected at just 4kb/s and adband Network, the price is higher and the speed is even slower.gradually increased over the 10 day "training period" until the line cannot cope with the speed; this allows sky to know what speeds the line can handle whilst still remaining stable. Sky Broadband provides Sky customers with theoretical Internet download speeds of up to 512Kb/s (from Easy net enabled exchanges, by means of LLU), using ADSL and ADSL2+ technologies via an Open reach copper landline (often still referred to as a BT line).
Sky Everyday Lite and Sky Unlimited broadband packages are available if the house is in a Sky Broadband Network. Sky Connect is an alternative package for houses that are not in a Sky Bro

Smart Broadband

Smart Broadband is engaged in providing wireless broadband and data services to residential consumers as well as small and medium-scale enterprises in the Philippines. As of December 31, 2006, Smart Broadband had 121,867 wireless broadband subscribers, of which 120,659 residential subscribers are under the brand name Smart Bro (formerly Smart Wi-Fi). Smart Bro aims to strengthen Smart’s position in the wireless data segment and complements PLDT’s myDSL service in areas where the latter is not available.

Smart Bro offers two packages for its wireless broadband service:

•      Smart Bro Plan 999, which is geared towards consumers and provides Internet speeds of up to 384 kbps; and

•      Smart Bro Computer Station Plan 2600, which is geared towards entrepreneurs and includes a monthly subscription, hardware, software and merchandising materials.

Smart Communications is set to launch the Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus, touted as the fastest mobile broadband device in the Philippines.  Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus is a portable pocket router is capable of reaching speeds of up to 20Mbps using Smart’s 4G HSPA+ network.  Up to 5 gadgets may connect simultaneously on the Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus.   As for pricing, it’s P6,495 according to Smart but that comes with a free 180MB preload.
“If you thought the 12Mbps Rocket Plug-It was already ahead of its time, the Rocket WiFi Plus will blast you off even farther into the future,” said Smart Broadband Internet and Data Services Head Gio Bacareza. “The Rocket WiFi Plus can reach a ‘conservative’ 20Mbps on our 42Mbps network,” he added. The Smart Bro Rocket Wi-Fi Plus is now up for pre-order.  It is available exclusively in prepaid and uses the same P200/180 MB pricing scheme as that of the Rocket Plug It.

Connect to the Internet -- even without phone lines with Smart's fixed wireless broadband technology.
Also known as "wireless cable", "broadband wireless local loop" or "wireless DSL", fixed wireless broadband provides high performance Internet service for residential, business and enterprise users. Not to be mistaken for WiFi 802.11 and mobile systems, fixed wireless broadband offers widespread availability and flexibility even in areas undeserved by conventional telco services.
Since its introduction in September 2005, SMART’s fixed wireless broadband service has provided a welcome boost to Internet usage in the Philippines where Internet penetration at that time was only 5.3%. Dubbed Smart Bro, the offering is in line with the PLDT group’s thrust in providing its customers with the widest range of broadband connectivity solutions.
Smart Bro runs on the network of Smart subsidiary Smart Broadband Inc. (SBI) which rides on the nationwide presence of SMART’s network to wirelessly deliver broadband Internet service to a subscriber’s personal computer, eliminating the need for a physical cable or phone line.
The “wireless” connection is established from a wireless broadband radio base station at the nearest SMART cellsite to the subscriber’s home via a Smart Bro antenna. Cables connect the antenna to the subscriber’s PC. To enjoy the strongest possible high speed Internet connection, the subscriber’s antenna must have a clear “line-of-sight” alignment and be within a 1.5 km. radius from a SMART cellsite.
SMART has been able to rapidly roll-out the service even in far-flung areas because it integrated many portions of the wireless broadband network with its existing GSM cellular network infrastructure. As of end-March 2007, Smart has over 2,600 base stations equipped with wireless broadband capability.
