Three Local Online Stores

Why people shop online?

The World Wide Web is not only a source for information but it is also a virtual shopping mall for consumers everywhere. It is no wonder why people shop online these days, rather than going to a shopping mall. Imagine shopping from the comfort of your own home at anytime of the day, without having to get dressed and endure severe traffic congestion just to get to a shopping mall. The advantages of buying online far surpasses the advantages of going to your local mall. With the increase of Internet shopping malls, consumers can now shop for products from everywhere around the world. Basically, there are no geographical boundaries on the Internet, therefore buyers and sellers from all over the world can come together and interact. Moreover, there is a wide variety of goods available online. Your product options are limitless and you have the luxury of purchasing products which are not available at your local malls. Some shoppers are shy to purchase products such as lingerie and hair growth lotion at actual shops. These shoppers will be able to purchase their desired products online while remaining anonymous and they do not have to feel embarrassed as no face-to-face contact will occur.Consumers are able to find lower prices when shopping online as they have access to stores operated by retailers in other countries. A product manufactured in a particular country is usually sold at a cheaper price in that country, compared to elsewhere. Through the Internet, consumers can purchase the said product thus saving them some money. Another reason why people shop online is due to the convenience it brings. A virtual shopping mall is open for business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A shopper can buy products online anytime, anywhere based on their own preference. Mothers with young kids will find this most useful as it is very troublesome to bring young kids to the shopping mall. Instead of looking for a child care solution each time they need to frequent the mall, mothers can now shop online while their kids are asleep. In addition, online shopping allows you to read up on other consumers' product reviews. These comments will be able to help you determine whether the product is good or not. This is a big benefit for you as you will be able to get unbiased reviews from real users of the product, rather than the company selling it. Furthermore, you can also share your own experiences with a particular product with other consumers online. Lastly, the Internet presents consumers with niche products which are difficult to find. For instance, if you are looking for niche health products such as all-natural health supplements, shopping online will most probably be better for you.

Here are some of local online Stores :)

The top spot for online auction service goes to eBay, the largest and most complete online auction venue in the world. But more than being the most popular and having even become a household name, eBay’s long time experience, exposure and membership gives them the clout they deserve.

 Sulit.com.ph

Sulit.com.ph is a classified ads website that caters primarily to Philippine market. It is an online marketplace where people buy and sell a wide variety of goods, products, and services under different categories such as real estate, automotives, careers, business products and services, and many more among Filipino individuals and business groups all over the world.
Launched on September 11, 2006, the free online classified ads website was named Sulit.com.ph for 2 reasons: (1) “Sulit” is a Filipino word that means “worth it” in English, describing the affordability of items being sold by the site’s members; and (2) Sulit is an acronym for “Super Low Internet Trading.”
In addition to the buy and sell platform, Sulit.com.ph also provides an online community among Filipino web users. Through the Sulit.com.ph forum, members interact with one another about various topics including business, lifestyle, current events, and health among many others. Thus, Sulit.com.ph can also be translated to “Sulit Community in the Philippines.”

 Online reviews about Sulit.com.ph:

Sulit.com.ph is one of the most popular classified ads posting forum site in the Philippines. It has more than half a million members with 800 to 900 new members signing up daily. As of to date, the site has accommodated up to 2 million ads posted on the site. Around 2000 to 3000 ads get posted on a daily basis.
Its popularity made the site attractive also to those committing fraud, scam, and identity theft. As a result, due to feelings of uncertainty by both buyers and sellers, a lot of transactions happen offline.

 Buyonline.com

Buyonline.ph is an online shopping mall based in the Philippines catering to both local and international shoppers; offering convenience, variety, and security for all its shoppers.

Buyonline.ph carries a wide range of products - apparel, accessories, books, electronics, computer, gadgets, movies, music, toys, baby needs, cosmetics, pets, home improvement, furniture and fixtures, and even industrial items - from a reliable list of suppliers, both local and multinational companies.

Business Hours

The Buyonline.ph website is fully operational 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. However, orders checked out after office hours (Office Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays will be processed by our staff on the next business day. Our office is also closed on holidays.

Online reviews about Buyonline.com:

True to its name, this is a site where you could find mostly anything you could ever want to buy. It doesn't matter what you are after, here you are bound to find it. Books, DVDs, videos, electronics, digital cameras, laptops, computer hardware and software, apparel, accessories, shoes... all that can be compared and bought through this site, and at excellent prices, too. Items are grouped in all the logical categories - "Computers & Software", "Home & Garden", "Clothing & Accessories"... and launching a search to find what you need to buy is done in seconds. Plus, the site lists the most popular brands on its homepage for those who are partial to products coming from certain companies only. Apple, Logitech, Samsung, Kodak, Hewlett Packard, Sony... these are just some of the many companies users of Buy-Online.com have the chance to go for on the site.

Buy-Online.com is really excellent as it is, but it would be even better if you could sign up for alerts when items you want move within a certain price range. That would make the site even more practical than it already is, but (let me say it again) it is close enough to perfect as it stands right now.

Globe Telecom

Globe Telecom

Commonly known as Globe, is a telecommunications company in the Philippines. Globe provides mobile, fixed line, and broadband Internet services.

History
In 1928, Congress passed Act No. 3495 granting the Robert Dollar Company, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, a franchise to operate wireless long distance message services in the Philippines. The Robert Dollar Company subsequently incorporated in the Philippines as Globe Wireless Limited and in 1934, Congress passed Act No. 4150 transferring the franchise and privileges of the Robert Dollar Company to Globe Wireless Limited.
Globe Wireless Limited was subsequently renamed Globe Mackay Cable and Radio Corporation. Congress, through Republic Act 4630 enacted in 1965, further expanded its franchise to allow it to operate international communications systems. Globe Mackay Cable and Radio Corporation were closed in the Philippines by Martial law. Shortly before the expiration of its franchise, the Batasan Pambansa in 1980 enacted Batas Pambansa 95 granting Globe Mackay Cable and Radio Corporation a new franchise.
Services
Globe has rolled out Globe broadband powered by WiMAX (Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access). Globe's network is considered the first and biggest 2.5 GHz WiMAX (802.16e) broadband network in South East Asia. It is first in the Philippines to commercially launch a consumer WiMAX offering. Currently, Globe has around four thousand subscribers on its WiMAX network, after only a few weeks. The service is initially available in selected areas in South Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao. Globe continues to roll-out WiMAX sites, as a complement to its existing DSL and 3G Internet facilities, to ensure the internet gets to every Filipino who needs it. Globe is providing WiMAX to selected local community government offices in Cavite, Batangas and Cagayan de Oro City. Globe is also providing Internet access via WiMAX to selected schools and city hospitals in Mindanao as part of its thrust of community service to the marginalized areas.
Globe has been expanding its wireless broadband network to accommodate the increasing demand for the Internet. In 2009, Globe introduced Globe Tattoo and Globe broadband powered by WiMAX (Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access). In June 2009, the company launched hyper-speed plans via fiber-to-the-home technology.Globe Telecom brought iPhone 3G to the Philippines on August 22, 2008.

From Online Reviews:

According to Speed, Coverage and Price

·         The Globe Wimax is a Wi-fi connection and it’s valued at a monthly rate of P995. We subscribed to the 1mbps plan and I am pleased to say that it’s a real 1mbps plan even though we’ve got several computers open 24/7 and the speed doesn’t get affected, unless you’d open at about 15 computers – then that’s another issue. We have 5 computers open and we still get a good speed and there are no internet connection problems that couldn’t be fixed in a couple of minutes. We usually experience some trouble about once a month, and that’s really rare compared to our recent PLDT subscription in which we had absolutely zero Internets in our location!

Sky Broadband

Sky Broadband is an internet service provider for Sky customers. As of March 2008 Sky claims to have reached1.428 million customers, and unbundled 1,179 exchanges, covering 70% of the United Kingdom. In October 2007, Sky reached the 1 million mark in terms of customer numbers, and claims to be adding one new customer every 40 seconds. From a marketing perspective, Sky Broadband is an example of converged service. As of 30 September 2009, it had 2.3 million customers.

Sky Broadband According to Speed, Coverage and Price
As with all ADSL connections, the further away from the telephone exchange the customer site is, the slower the speed will be. Sky use DLM (Dynamic Line Management) over the first 10 days of a new connection to stabilize the DSL line at an acceptable downstream and upstream speed in order for the connection to remain stable.
Lines are initially connected at just 4kb/s and adband Network, the price is higher and the speed is even slower.gradually increased over the 10 day "training period" until the line cannot cope with the speed; this allows sky to know what speeds the line can handle whilst still remaining stable. Sky Broadband provides Sky customers with theoretical Internet download speeds of up to 512Kb/s (from Easy net enabled exchanges, by means of LLU), using ADSL and ADSL2+ technologies via an Open reach copper landline (often still referred to as a BT line).
Sky Everyday Lite and Sky Unlimited broadband packages are available if the house is in a Sky Broadband Network. Sky Connect is an alternative package for houses that are not in a Sky Bro

Smart Broadband

Smart Broadband is engaged in providing wireless broadband and data services to residential consumers as well as small and medium-scale enterprises in the Philippines. As of December 31, 2006, Smart Broadband had 121,867 wireless broadband subscribers, of which 120,659 residential subscribers are under the brand name Smart Bro (formerly Smart Wi-Fi). Smart Bro aims to strengthen Smart’s position in the wireless data segment and complements PLDT’s myDSL service in areas where the latter is not available.

Smart Bro offers two packages for its wireless broadband service:

•      Smart Bro Plan 999, which is geared towards consumers and provides Internet speeds of up to 384 kbps; and

•      Smart Bro Computer Station Plan 2600, which is geared towards entrepreneurs and includes a monthly subscription, hardware, software and merchandising materials.

Smart Communications is set to launch the Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus, touted as the fastest mobile broadband device in the Philippines.  Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus is a portable pocket router is capable of reaching speeds of up to 20Mbps using Smart’s 4G HSPA+ network.  Up to 5 gadgets may connect simultaneously on the Smart Bro Rocket WiFi Plus.   As for pricing, it’s P6,495 according to Smart but that comes with a free 180MB preload.
“If you thought the 12Mbps Rocket Plug-It was already ahead of its time, the Rocket WiFi Plus will blast you off even farther into the future,” said Smart Broadband Internet and Data Services Head Gio Bacareza. “The Rocket WiFi Plus can reach a ‘conservative’ 20Mbps on our 42Mbps network,” he added. The Smart Bro Rocket Wi-Fi Plus is now up for pre-order.  It is available exclusively in prepaid and uses the same P200/180 MB pricing scheme as that of the Rocket Plug It.

Connect to the Internet -- even without phone lines with Smart's fixed wireless broadband technology.
Also known as "wireless cable", "broadband wireless local loop" or "wireless DSL", fixed wireless broadband provides high performance Internet service for residential, business and enterprise users. Not to be mistaken for WiFi 802.11 and mobile systems, fixed wireless broadband offers widespread availability and flexibility even in areas undeserved by conventional telco services.
Since its introduction in September 2005, SMART’s fixed wireless broadband service has provided a welcome boost to Internet usage in the Philippines where Internet penetration at that time was only 5.3%. Dubbed Smart Bro, the offering is in line with the PLDT group’s thrust in providing its customers with the widest range of broadband connectivity solutions.
Smart Bro runs on the network of Smart subsidiary Smart Broadband Inc. (SBI) which rides on the nationwide presence of SMART’s network to wirelessly deliver broadband Internet service to a subscriber’s personal computer, eliminating the need for a physical cable or phone line.
The “wireless” connection is established from a wireless broadband radio base station at the nearest SMART cellsite to the subscriber’s home via a Smart Bro antenna. Cables connect the antenna to the subscriber’s PC. To enjoy the strongest possible high speed Internet connection, the subscriber’s antenna must have a clear “line-of-sight” alignment and be within a 1.5 km. radius from a SMART cellsite.
SMART has been able to rapidly roll-out the service even in far-flung areas because it integrated many portions of the wireless broadband network with its existing GSM cellular network infrastructure. As of end-March 2007, Smart has over 2,600 base stations equipped with wireless broadband capability.

The Three Client Messenger Services

Client Messenger Services

Why Communication is very important in our lives?

Communication is an essential component in our lives. It is important in our everyday lives. It has been estimated that 75% of a person's day is spent communicating in some way. Communicating other people is very essential to us, it is our way of remembering people who away from us. There are a lot of ways that we can do to communicate our loved one's, friends, relatives and many more, nowadays people can sent messages through text with the use of mobile phones, through online messenger services like yahoo messenger, skype and a lot more all you have to do have computer with internet connection, through this you can now go to different web services who offer instant messaging to your loved one's. Technology nowadays plays a very important role in communication. People find it easy to use because it is one click away. The relationship of the people who use this kinds of messenger services become strong since there is good communication between the two parties involved.

Meebo

MEEBO is the most popular of the Web IM choices, and with good reason. This online instant messaging service works with AIM, Yahoo, MySpace, Facebook, MSN, GTalk, ICQ, Jabber, and even Flixster.
Meebo also offers group chat, a great mobile version (for iPhones and the like), and even access in your Firefox sidebar. There’s support for file-sharing, video chat, and much more – it’s as fully-featured, if not more so, than most desktop IM clients.
My experience with Meebo was that it works best with Facebook chat, and is definitely one of the simplest to use. It’s also incredibly well-funded, which means it’s likely to stick around for a while.  One of the original Ajax-based web instant messaging program which supports multiple IM services, including Yahoo! Messenger, MSN, Google Talk, AIM, ICQ  and Jabber. Your network administrator probably has this one already blocked.
Meebo is user friendly interface which makes it look very similar to other desktop messengers. As long as you are on broadband you should not feel any speed difference between Meebo and other desktop messengers like Yahoo messenger or MSN.
From other reviews people find Meebo as very helpful when their travelling abroad . They  can easily access all IM programs in one window from any place as long as there is internet connection.

There are worth mentioning reviews features:
    (1) Login with one user ID (meebo account) and access all of your mssaging accounts simultaneously.
    (2) Rename your contacts as you want them them to appear on your Buddy list. I have more then 100 contacts and it is quite annoying when people change their nicks very often. With this feature you decide what name will appear for any of your contacts.
    Yahoo Messenger (YM)

Yahoo! Messenger (sometimes abbreviated YIM) from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Messenger it
is an advertisement-supported instant messaging client and associated protocol provided by Yahoo!. Yahoo! Messenger is provided free of charge and can be downloaded and used with a generic "Yahoo! ID" which also allows access to other Yahoo! services, such as Yahoo! Mail, where users can be automatically notified when they receive new email. Yahoo! also offers PC-PC, PC-Phone and Phone-to-PC service, file transfers, webcam hosting, text messaging service, and chat rooms in various categories.
Yahoo! Messenger was originally launched under the name Yahoo! Pager on March 9, 1998.Yahoo Messenger is very known in the world because they millions of subscriber. Yahoo! Messenger users can listen to free and paid Internet radio services, using the official Yahoo! Music Radio plug-in from within the messenger window. The plug-in also allows full player functionality, such as play, pause, skip and rate this song.

SKYPE is new and yet very popular nowadays because it can connect people trough telephone, camera and mobile phones. People find it very user friendly because its free and has features that is very useful especially for some users abroad who can connect with their loved one's anytime. From
The service allows users to communicate with peers by voice, video, and instant messaging over the Internet. Phone calls may be placed to recipients on the traditional telephone networks. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free of charge, while calls to landlines telephones and mobile phones are charged via a debit-based user account system. Skype has also become popular for its additional features, including file transfer, and videoconferencing.
Skype has 663 million registered users as of September 2011. The network is operated by Microsoft, which has its Skype division headquarters in Luxembourg. Most of the development team and 44% of the overall employees of the division are situated in the offices of Tallinn and Tartu,
Skype offers their customers a solid list of 17 features. The difference between what they and their VoIP services competitors have to offer is the fact they’re a video chat based VoIP service. As a result, you’re going to get several options like the ability to send files and screen sharing. You can also take advantage of the fact you can call other people who have this service for free. Other free features this service offers include video calls, Skype-to-Skype conference calls and instant messaging and group instant messages.
If you want to get in touch with someone who doesn’t have this service, it will only cost you about two cents a minute. The costs for receiving calls from landlines and mobiles, sending text messages and having voicemail are very low as well. Subscription plans have these features included at no cost to you or are discounted. Accessing this service via WiFi hotspots is another inexpensive option this service provides its customers.

Among those client messenger service, that a lot of company's offer, there is one objective that they are implementing and that is to have good communication between the people who are subscriber of this  kinds of services. They want to make sure that the communication of families, friends and loved one's is still there keeping i touch despite of bieng far away from their loved one's. Some use it for business purposes and but overall, this kind of services is use to communicate people who are million miles away.

Property Management System vs. Multi-agent System

Before I start to differentiate the PMS and MAS let’s start define the word ‘SYSTEM’’.:)))

What is a system?

A system (from Latin systēma, in turn from Greek σύστημα systēma, "whole compounded of several parts or members, system", literary "composition") is a set of interacting or interdependent components forming an integrated whole. A system is a set of elements (often called 'components' instead) and relationships which are different from relationships of the set or its elements to other elements or sets. A set of detailed methods, procedures, and routines established or formulated to carry out a specific activity, perform a duty, or solve a problem.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ( PMS )

Definition of PMS :

It is a generic term for applications of computer hardware and software used to manage a hotel by networking reservation and registration databases, point of sale systems, accounting systems and other office software in other words may be used in real estate, manufacturing, logistics, intellectual property, government or hospitality accommodation management. They are computerized systems that facilitate the management of properties, personal property, and equipment, including maintenance, legalities and personnel all through a single piece of software. They replaced old-fashioned, paper-based methods that tended to be both cumbersome and inefficient. Property management system is very useful especially when it comes to hospitality industry it may be use in room’s reservation and other applications that is related to the industry. In the hospitality industry a property management system also known as a PMS is a computerized system used to manage guest bookings, online reservations, point of sale, telephone and other amenities. Hotel property management systems may interface with central reservation systems and revenue or yield management systems, front office, back office and point of sale systems. PMS is designed to make the operations of such industries easy and can lessen the time since the applications is not time consuming on the other hand PMS is used because it increase profit the flow of operation is faster. In the highly competitive hospitality industry, it is the intangibles that encourage guests to spend more provide positive feedback and return to the property in the future. The most powerful of these intangibles is service. You will notice that front office department is the center for communication of other department of the hotel such as housekeeping department, food and beverage department, marketing and sales department, security department, engineering and other departments. Each department plays a role, along with the front office in serving the needs of the guest before, during, and after the guest stay.

                                                MULTI-AGENT SYSTEM ( MAS )

Definition of MAS :

It is a system composed of multiple interacting intelligent agents. Multi-agent systems can be used to solve problems that are difficult or impossible for an individual agent or a monolithic system to solve. Intelligence may include some methodic, functional, procedural or algorithmic search, find and processing approach. In other words MAS is flexible which means is it could be use in different ways. From the word multi means Resembling, pertaining to many or many things.
The characteristics of MASs are that
(1) Each agent has incomplete information or capabilities for solving the problem and, thus, has a limited viewpoint;
(2) There is no system global control;
(3) Data are decentralized; and
(4) Computation is asynchronous.'"

In artificial intelligence research, agent-based systems technology has been hailed as a new paradigm for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing software systems. Agents are sophisticated computer programs that act autonomously on behalf of their users, across open and distributed environments, to solve a growing number of complex problems. Increasingly, however, applications require multiple agents that can work together. A multi-agent system (MAS) is a loosely coupled network of software agents that interact to solve problems that are beyond the individual capacities or knowledge of each problem solver. Multi-Agent System has advantages and here some of it;
  • An MAS distributes computational resources and capabilities across a network of interconnected agents. Whereas a centralized system may be plagued by resource limitations, performance bottlenecks, or critical failures, an MAS is decentralized and thus does not suffer from the "single point of failure" problem associated with centralized systems.
  • An MAS allows for the interconnection and interoperation of multiple existing legacy systems. By building an agent wrapper around such systems, they can be incorporated into an agent society.
  • An MAS models problems in terms of autonomous interacting component-agents, which is proving to be a more natural way of representing task allocation, team planning, user preferences, open environments, and so on.
  • An MAS efficiently retrieves, filters, and globally coordinates information from sources that are spatially distributed.
  • An MAS provides solutions in situations where expertise is spatially and temporally distributed.
  • An MAS enhances overall system performance, specifically along the dimensions of computational efficiency, reliability, extensibility, robustness, maintainability, responsiveness, flexibility, and reuse.
I there for conclude that these PMS and MAS is use made to help industries and companies in terms of those applications that is offered. In the hospitality industry it helps them increase their profits since the software and applications use is easy and less time consuming. The difference between PMS and MAS is that PMS is simple while MAS is complicates a little bit since MAS do multi tasking.
